Derby wife? League Vice Perv Dawn Gin Master - That's right ladies, I got her first...but I'm willing to share!
 
Why this derby name and number? Because S. Morgenstern is quite brilliant for a non-existant author.

How did you get into derby? My best friend and neighbor (and now derby wife) Dawn Gin Master is ALWAYS proposing crazy ideas, like "Let's drive to California over the weekend" or "Let's go to Mexico for the summer and dig things up." or "Let's celebrate 'Cutsgiving' and cut off all of your hair." We've NEVER followed through on any of these, so I always answer "Sure, Why not?!" When she came up with the idea of joining a roller derby league, I agreed, both thinking it would never happen and hoping it would distract her from the encroaching Cutsgiving date she had set. She emailed me back that we were supposed to meet some girl named Krush Groove at Emery Brothers the following Tuesday, and the rest is history. (And in case you are wondering, she let me keep my hair... so far.)

Non-derby hobbies: Crafting (I own some of the weirdest crafting tools), Reading books written for pre-teens, impulse EBAY-ing, correcting signs with a sharpie, yard saling for more weird craft stuff, spoiling my husband, and generally being a crazy cat lady...OH and begging for a pet capybara!

 Favorite song to skate to: Baby Got Back....it's so true!

Turn ons: Scrabble, Pet lovers, Delicious food, taking standardized tests, and general social awkwardness.

Turn offs: Misuse of homophones, the sound of nail files, and all whistling. 

What do your family and friends think of derby? My family is super supportive of everything I do, but both my family and friends were generally pretty shocked... especially when I started buying miniskirts.
